I've done some selling and trading but I'll say that it's like Christmas Day to me when I do a trade and I'm waiting on the grill and it finally arrives. A few I've done recently:

Red 18" MBH for an F code Chocolate (wife's birth year) Red on the left

Thanks @swamprb

Red 22" MBH for a DT new in box SJ Gold
Red in center

Thanks @ken1968

Red Mist K 22" for a '75-'76 Brownie

Thanks @Himey

There have been others and will likely be more, just wanted to share.

Love that complete strangers who share the same passion can ship grills across the country and world. This club is awesome.

Almost forgot that @Himey threw in some dry rubs in the box with that MBH. What a surprise.

I'm glad you are happy with the brownie! I am definitely happy with my redhead and let me know what you think of the rubs.

Unfortunately nothing really. The herd is pretty thin these days.

Gothcha well if something come up let me know. The brownie I still have isn't in as good of shape as the grill in the photos above but it's still in good shape for a 1975, '76 grill.

Forgive the stupid question I'm fairly new here

So when you do trades, is it all by trust. You send yours first hoping the other person will do their part and send theirs?

Or same with agents ? You send them the money hoping they'll ship you the kettle ?

Nice looking grills! I love trades as well - something new for each person and only cost to ship to worry about

Short answer is yes and no.

Regardless of the transaction type (trade, member sale, CL, OfferUp...) I exchange numbers and try to have a phone conversation with the other party. You can usually tell someone's intentions in a phone call. If they don't want to talk I might walk.

Agent transactions can go a few different ways. You could let the agent handle the seller and pickup and then "buy" from them. Or you do the up front work and they are the middle man or the pickup guy. As long as they don't send you a briefcase full of their dirty whites you're good.

I'll also ask other members for references.

Ultimately use your own judgement and what you're comfortable with.

I haven't been screwed over by any members here and I don't feel like I have to worry about it as much here.
