I have been using the standard Javelin for about 2 years daily in a restaurant environment.  I carry it everyday and have beat it up but it still works great.  I replaced the battery because I figured two years is a good run with my usage and didn't want to be left without it.  I have also run it through the washer and it lived!

I ordered 4 of the javelin thermometers this year and I ordered 2 of the pros last year. These make excellent Christmas gifts. Everyone I have gotten one loves it. Whether they grill or use it inside, it’s always handy to have a decent instant read.
