This is the link to how I acquired the grill.

Let me start this off by explaining myself a little.I got my first Performer in May, a Green Gen 2.
Since then I've seemed to accumulate 5 SSPs. Let's not talk about the others.
One I gifted to my brother and sister in law. I've gotten a lot of knowledge being here in such a short period. I thank you all. Well I hope this shows some RRR. Gonna try and document it the best I can. It's gonna be a cooker so I'm not going to go crazy. She's starting to come together.

One Touch was shot.

Someone used White spray paint in close proximity to the grill. It was all over.

Did I say all over.

After drilling out One Touch

Started with the bowl

Lid next.

Compounded and Waxed frame

Cooking grate looked like it was bought recently. All of 10 minutes to clean

Still need to install One Touch

Did I mention it needs casters. LOL
Hope you enjoyed I will update when finished.

Looking good. When Weberitis struck me 5 years ago, an O-code red mist Performer was my first. It's still my favorite grill.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

Nicely done! It will be a great cooker. My ground up restored Red SSP this year is one of my few favorite cookers.

Looks great. Can you give me more details about Compounded and Waxeing the frame?

CatskillSmoker

Auto compound and wax. Follow the directions and watch it come back to life.
Good luck with it.

I was really scared to click on this with the PIC HEAVY in the title, with my dial up connection and all but boy I'm glad I did.  Thank you for the warning.......
