Looks great, but IMO you should have flipped the table 90 degrees. I think that that darker band of wood would have looked better going the length of the table rather than the width.

That was the plan...... I was short about a quarter inch . I was not happy about it but it is what it is !

BBQ Jack

That looks better than the Weber plastic. They should get with it and have wood tables on the performer and wood handles on all kettles. That is what customers want.

Agreed . But that would take the fun out of it

That does look great. Is it marine grade plywood?  Marine grade is not treated and does need a protective finish but has moisture proof glue. Typical plywood will delaminate outside, if exposed to any moisture or humidity even with a protective finish.

Only reason I say that is my brothers made my dad a corn hole game and they painted it with 3 coats of exterior paint and the first time it got just a little wet, the top ply started to wrinkle. It's done it a couple times now and when it dries it flattens back out. It's the weirdest thing and we didn't expect it. I'm sure yours will be fine but figured I'd mention that so you keep it as dry as possible.

Great looking restore!

Custom wood tables are so nice with a kettle or Performer.
One can make them any size you desire and customize its look.  :D
Need to see more of them instead of the metal ones ... JMO.  :D :D
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.
