Rescue complete!
« on: September 14, 2017, 08:03:04 AM »
Got a text from fellow member Brian Wesson (can't tag on this app) about a yellow that was destined to become a fire pit. He had contacted the owner and made the deal, but didn't have time for the restore so he passed it to me.
Talked to the owner, mailed him a money order and waited.
Then came the work part.  Mostly solid , just some bare spots and a couple leg sockets broke off.
Bolted the leg sockets back on, drilled all the vents off and cleaned them.
Taped it all up and painted the bare spots, let the paint cure then did a low heat set burn..and now...I have a yellow cooker...not really a looker, but I like it
Thanks again for passing this on to me Brian.

Did the first cook on it last night. Lower heat (300) some local sausage...slight color change...Love It!

Nice job on the resto Bert!!!
Even if a Yellow's a cooker, it's still a looker (& that definitely is).

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞
