I only use kettles with lid bales.

"Selling my webber grill, doesn't control heat all that good as the vent doesn't work".  Wouldn't you look that over and think something isn't right here?

When I was designing the heat shields for the handles, they LOVED the idea of using the bolt on handle (that had been in use in Europe) because -less work for Weber. 

I know for a time that the heat shield clipped into the old performer/thermometer handle as they didn't want to pay for new tooling and handles.  It was always "try and use what we already have".
