Gave away my Redhead

i gave away my n code OT+ redhead this weekend....and now have 2 kettles, instead of 3.  but, the gent to whom i gave the redhead had zero kettles and was using a non-weber gasser....he was pretty fired up to receive the gift out of the blue.

i only used 3 kettles at once 1 time this summer, even though i did a ton of cooking.  that's how i knew it was ok to make the change and drop back down to 2.  i loved cooking on the redhead, especially the color change, but my other two kettles were gifts from my wife....so there was no way i was going to give one of those away. 

if i decide to back to 3, it will likely be that i try to find the special edition coming out this fall.

That is an awesome gesture! That grill now is certainly well traveled and making the rounds.

It's good to introduce others to charcoal grilling and mentor them along the way! Perhaps your friend can be introduced to WKC!

Awesome gesture. 

I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago.  My good friend is a retired chef / fire fighter and loves cooking on a Weber kettle.  He has a typical black OT.  The other day he said...."I'd love to get a second kettle...."  I didn't need to hear his reasoning why......you don't need a reason to have another kettle, right?  Then he said, "It would be cool to find a older colored one."  Challenge accepted.

I found a red B code MBH with the original twist lock ash pan on it on CL the next day.  It was delivered to his back patio that evening.  He was speechless.  I love giving kettles to friends.  It's almost more fun than keeping them.

Maybe it's kettle karma...maybe it's just being generous.
