cleaning and seasoning vintage grates (PLUS BONUS COOK)

I pulled out BIG RED for a cook yesterday, but her grates were terrible.

I'm committed to a minimum ONE VIDEO PER WEEK on the WKC youtube channel (go subscribe, please) - so I figured I'd put together a video showing how I quickly clean and season grates.

Thanks @Troy I subscribed so I know when new videos are posted. Very informative since my aristocrat has the original grates also.

The paper towel weiner is awful.
It just shreds itself.

I take terrycloth bar towels and cut them into 4 inch wide strips
width wise roll them up and tie them like you do when you tie up
your not wide enough weiner.

Make a couple of dozen and wash them as a batch with
scent free detergent and no dryer sheet.  You can get
7-8 uses before you have to toss 'em.

Normally the paper towel works fine, I just tied that one too small on the weiner girth scale.

A great drinking game would be to take a shot every time Troy says, "That grill is HOT!!".

I couldn't think of any other words to use to describe the outrageous temperature of the grill.
Seriously, the hair was curling on my arm.
My phone literally overheated and turned off from being near the grill.

So you risk your vintage red 26 kettle by intentionally cranking up the heat to 2000 degrees?
I would not recommend cleaning a grill like this.. I know you didn't bank the coals but it looks like you have about 10 lbs of charcoal in there.  Wss it Kingsford?
