At Walmart yesterday....
I was picking up a few things grocery related and couldn't help myself without cruising the Grills before leaving.  A young couple were looking at a new Grill.  They had chosen a Kingsford Charcoal grill.   It was 119.00 USD.  The Weber One Touch Premium was next to it. 149.00.  I said "Weber" is my charcoal grill of choice.  They asked why.... and well... I told them.  With proper care and a cover the OTG will outlast any charcoal grill on the shelf.  He almost picked up the Jumbo Joe.  It was $68.00  I told them of the benefits of the OTG and the larger Lid.   The Mrs. Said Gas is so much easier.   I looked at the young man and said... "Real men don't use Propane"... we had a good chuckle.  Helped them pick out a Weber Chimney Starter.  The Wife said, Why not use Lighter Fluid??? YIKES!!!!  I said.. And then smiled and said.  If you like the taste of lighter fluid go ahead and get that.  I spun the fact that if you pay $15.00 for the Chimney, you will save A LOT of $$$ versus buying Fluid in the long run.  He agreed and I loaded them up with all things Weber. I told him to register that new grill with Weber as soon as he could.

I then went to Lowes to pick up some charcoal.  Guess whom I saw at Lowes buying charcoal??? Yep... you guessed it...   He had 1 twin pack in his basket, I had 8 twins on my flatbed cart.. We just smiled at each other and the rest you can say is history...

I guess you can say I was an enabler of Weber-itis...

Grill on folks... grill on....
Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...

Good story. If it doesn't work out then we'll see a CL posting in a few weeks. An OKP, a chimney and some leftover KBB.

Excellent. I've done that too, but at HD.

Only thing wrong is you didn't steer him to lump.  :)

They had chosen a Kingsford Charcoal grill.

I was actually looking at those when I was in Home Depot the other day. I certainly wouldn't choose one over a Weber, but I did like that the charcoal rack can be lowered and raised during cooking.  There are certainly worse grills out there for your buck.
