First off a big thanks to Drew @db3694 for selling this to me...so i thought there weren't any true D codes known to exist?? Have you guys ever seen a kettle marked like this one? I thought it was really unique and i had to have it.

Interesting kettle.  What's going on with that bowl? Is there red on the handles and sockets?

@56MPG did you ever find a D vent for your poster?

Yeah the paint is crazy! Some weird fade from brown to tan to red in some spots...

@Craig  and I had some conversation with @bmcneely51 via PM about this kettle. Not unprecendented to see a D stamp, but not conclusive proof that any of these were full production models. Speculation is half the fun, so you never know, we learn new stuff all the time. @Neil_VT00 I do not have a D on the poster, but maybe the next version will. I have an early no-stamp to add anyway - the one they used after the '52 with the integrated tab, not the welded on tab. It's been a while, so why not? Lots of members have never seen it anyway, and the 5th anniversary is a good enough excuse for a reboot.

Interesting kettle! Most MBH Brownies have thick darker fade on the lid. This one looks to be one uniform color expect red looking bowl leg sockets and the bowl handle with some interesting color mix.  Very cool kettle.

@bmcneely51 - congrats again on the pickup! Having seen it in person, I will say you're lucky Drew was holding it for you... I've never seen a paint job like that. Truly original, and I'd love to know how it passed quality control.

I believe the first documented "D" was several years ago by @Lowbrass :

Interesting. I thought B codes were the last MBH's. Awesome kettle. Love the red fades. My Chief has a bit of red in it also albeit a bit less than yours.

For those wondering about the poster. This has been updated several times over the years, and due for another update. Still not sure about the D stamp - it's not the same style and certainly not the standard location. Even so, I say it belongs in the mix with the others. The intent is to include an example of every vent version and date code known. All but one of these are owned by club members! Like before, once I get this done I'll post a link to the large size file on Flickr so you can download and print one for yourself.
