How to tell 18.5" from 22.5" from pics
« on: April 25, 2017, 02:30:04 PM »
I frequently troll Craigslist and Facebook for cheap weber deals. However, often the posting doesn't list the kettle diameter, or it is wrong. Is there an easy way to tell from a couple of basic pics? I think I had read somewhere that there was a difference between where the lid handle and vent line up, but I can't find it.

Any help?

Hello @drallan ! Welcome to the madness. The 18" lid vent will be perpendicular to the handle. A 22" will be in line together.

There may or may not be a dog included...

Perfect, thanks. This is exactly what I was looking for.

I was actually a member a few years ago, but am assuming my account was disabled after a period of inactivity. Too many forums to keep up w/ and life at the same time. When I get the chance I'll update my signature. But for the time being Owner of (all CL or FB finds):

2003 3-burner Gold
22.5" Platinum
Ranch Kettle
18.5" WSM
2 14.5" Joes
Q220
2 Go anywhere grills (1 charcoal, 1 gas)
2-3 CL find kettles at any given point in time. I use them for parts, gifts, one time use where I don't care if I get it back.

And that is just the webers. I'm not including the UDSs, 250gal trailer, Coleman Road Trip, Aussie 2200....

The wife thinks I have a problem.
