Finally got my hands on a Weber Chill
« on: April 11, 2017, 10:04:13 AM »
I've had my eye out for one of these for quite some time now but they never seem to show up locally. After expanding the search I came across a really nice RED chill listed down in Portland. I contacted the seller to see if he might be interested in shipping the unit but understandably he had some reservations about boxing up such a large item. He was a super nice guy (And Weber collector!) and after sorting out some logistics he agreed to hold onto it for me for almost 2 months until my parents would be driving thru Portland on their way home from Palm Springs. Ya.... Super cool move on his part! Thank you again very much if you ever find and read this!

Anyways, on to some pictures! Most of the Chill's I have seen in the past were silver so I'm really digging the reflective red [emoji106]

I plugged it in and within 30min had a solid layer of frost around the inside! Colder than I expected for sure so that was a nice surprise.

Take care all,

Matt

Never knew they came in anything other than silver.

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Exc. I've been looking too, and see mostly silver. But I want the red!

Needs a nice big Weber logo on the front.. Wouldn't hurt the collector value.

Mine is silver, and doesn't have the side tables, but I LOVE mine!  Congrats on yours!

Congrats, Matt!

Never knew they came in anything other than silver.

I don't recall seeing a red one until now, but I know that they came in blue, as well.

Funny you mention it! I have a couple large Weber vinyl decals of both the logo and just the kettle silhouette. The original plan was to slap one of the silhouettes right on the front but I think the decal is actually too large for it to work out. Maybe if I trim the kettle out of the logo decal it will be a better fit.... stay tuned 8)

Edit :: The kettle from the logo decal would be perfect size but since it is all red it would more or less blend in. Might just have an all black one made up because it would probably look pretty sweet

Something like this is what I had in mind... looks better with a white border.

The white border really makes it pop!  I dig it. Maybe you could get a "Topper" one for it too!

Try the red decal. Might also look as good as the black kettle decal but will not pop as much. Two tone..

Congrats! That is a beauty.  Early last year, I saw one just like it come up for sale here in Toronto Canada, but at the time I did not know what it was and pass up on it. Now I want one.
