Worth it? Just sold my gas assist performer and got a mini ranch 26'r. Is it a lot faster than Weber cubes? Does the coal still last awhile?

I have the chimney of insanity to go with the dragon. You still need to use one paraffin cube to get it going. It gets the coals going in about 1/3 of the time of a standard Weber chimney - more burn time out of the coals for your cook.

@spen1818, this may sound sacrilegious to drill into your new mini ranch, but how about adding gas assist to it?  I wish all my modern kettles had GA.

Not worth it in my opinion. Had on Performer and it was nice but the Weber cubes work well too. Plus. I plan to add sns so the gas assist would have to move. As I won't always have coals in the center. But, I have thought about it.
