Craig that is unreal, that's what we get for letting Trump send these Red grills to China......
I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

Sorry to see that Craig - but hey, at least you get a bonus cool limited edition thermo surround and summit vent tab for use on another grill :)

This new red may now be the brightest red I own. It's brighter than my red G1 MT and my red SS for sure. I'll need to put it up next to my 1979 and my 1981 red to be sure but this is very fire engine red. Color wise, Weber knocked it right out of the park with this one! Of course I had to swap out the grate with a gourmet grate system.

HOLY GRAILS: 1950s era Black or Custom finish 18.5 or 22.5 Kettle, Brown Go Anywhere grill.

My local Lowes had a bunch in stock. I bought a $40 off $200 coupon code off eBay hoping it didn't t have exclusions for Weber. Surprisingly it didn't and I got $40 off. Had to add a box of starter cubes to my online purchase to get my total purchase over $200. But ordered during lunch and picked it up on my way home from work.

Just took it out of the box to check it out and make sure it's okay. It's like a friggin time capsule. The red is awesome.

Really remind me of this big boy at the Weber offices.

Man I've been back and forth on whether to get this or not. Your post here is pushing me towards it. The fact that you have cool old kettles and this new one still trips your trigger is speaking to me. Congrats, it does look great - no doubt about it.

For sure the vent tab will come with the replacement lid. As for the thermo, normally, on other new kettles comes separate from the lid assy., to be installed by the user. So, no thermo on the replacement. But this SE Red comes with the Thermo assy already installed on the lid.... so it may come with it too on your replacement lid. Just a thought!

A little surprised some of you have pulled the trigger for yourselves already. Each person has their own reasons for this-or-that. I don't know why, and this is a weird thing to say but I'm actually hoping to be surprised this year for Xmas with this grill.

No one's asked or anything, but I've "liked" or shared a couple Weber FB announcements and I know my family sees that stuff, so long as they don't scroll past my political posts too fast LOL.

And if not, it'll be a something I hope to get for myself.

It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
