Avocado has strange triangle

Does anyone know why this triangle would have been used instead of the more traditional one we see most often?

That's the triangle from the lower end Weber daisy wheel and economy kettles from the 90's

Is that an 18? The one you see "quite often" is the one you'll never see when you start looking for a donor kettle with one lol. Lots of the 18's have this one and the newer ones with the other style often are black or painted that silver color.

If it's a 22, it will be easier to find the other style.

I just went through finding a donor for my 18 avocado. In my case I ruined the original by leaving it in evaporust for a loooong time.

Not an original to the avocado kettle. Just change it out to a reg. triangle if it bothers you. I do have both of the kettles pbe gummi bear mentioned with this triangle.

Wonder why the previous owner changed it out. I will probably change it. Thanks for the input

maybe the same reason i have one , my first kettle had a homade triangle complete with toy wheels  , found a sears/weber kettle and put it on ,much better now .one day i'll figure out how to send pictures if i can get my knuckles off the ground lol ,the lid has an amazing patina that looks like plasma bolts of  electicity . also have one of those economy kettles i like the triangles on them ,never use them for anything anyway .

Don't be too quick to dismiss it as not original. Weber has done all sorts of twists on the kettles, depending on the retailer.
