Had to go down to the shed to make sure my reds were safe and sound. LOL

@Jet300 Beautiful redheads!
Thanks! That SSP was a $65 find in CT .. Seller swore it needed a new bowl.  I freed up the ash sweep and other than some distortion around the vent holes, it's perfect.

The MT was made from a combo of two grills obtained thru this site from SixZeroFour and GregS. The lid, legs, bail, triangle, ash sweep and handles are from an EE code MT from SixZeroFour.  The bowl and ash catcher assemby are from GregS...

The other parts were mated to this O Code MT from GregS. He gave me a great deal and made me promise to not flip it.  That was never the plan at all. :) She's  being used a bunch.   It's a great cooker!  I'll never sell my red heads.

The O Code... Yes, I need to change out the white wheel retainers to black. LOL

Where do you hang the lid?  From the handle or side of bowl?  I would have guessed bowl but it seems to hang more securely from the handle. I assume you would melt the handle though.

From the Bowl! The previous owner of my DE code used the handle and it's all black, charred, melted nasty plastic. Don't do it.

Original grate. I'm going to heat up and give it the foil and onion treatment to see if it will clean up. If not, I'll swap grates.

I'm not familiar with the foil and onion treatment. Can you give directions? Also are you picking up the blue performer listed near you? Looks like a nice one.

Does an aftermarket 18" OTG midget count for anything?

Foil and onion methods are separate things. I just did both. Wad up foil and scrub grate while hot. Onion method is same using half onion. Neither did worth a shit but it was hot and seemed reasonably clean so I cooked on it.

I've seen the blue performer and want it but do not need it. I can snag it for you if you want it.
