I went to a customer of mines house to look at his roof and we started talking about grills somehow. He said uses a weber kettle that his dad used in college and that it was in his garage. I knew it had to be old based on that information alone. I asked if I could look at it and to my surprise it was a redhead wood dale!  I couldn't believe it. It is not for sale but I told him to let me know if he decides to let it go.

He said he also has a gas assist green ssp at his lake house. Also not for sale but that's ok because they seem like they are in good hands.

I bet he'd rather have a newer, more convenient Performer.  8)

Sounds like that redhead is at home, and should stay there. Family kettles are rare, and should be treasured for generations. Point him to the site or let him know how to clean it up and preserve it properly. Tell him he has a duty to preserve it for his grand kids. Grab a pic next time. Maybe he has a pic of his dad using it he could share with us - even better.
