Just got my ash sweeps in today. I'm attaching these to the older style ring. Was told to do away with the h washer and it will work. Question is , how to secure the arm ? Maybe tack weld it ? New at this ! TIA

You can use hose clamp method and let go the middle bar. I did this on my recent restore of redhead and it's holding strongly the ring.

I did hose clamps and kept the H washer on the setup. It can be done.

The crossbar will take up the space that the washer does, so the handle will still lock into place.
