Storm damage!
« on: January 24, 2017, 12:34:21 PM »

The wind tipped it over onto the rug, so no actual damage. But it still raised my heart rate when I looked out the window and spotted it.

I didn't even think to check mine.. we had a lot of wind yesterday. I know some of my garbage cans went on a journey.

Glad both you and your grill are ok.

That would cause one hell of a racket at my place.  I always have stuff stored inside my grills between uses!

Yikes!  Glad it is ok.

I noticed that high winds sometimes loosen my twist on ash pans and they can blow away.  Like Mike, I now store them inside the kettle when not in use.

Here in AZ I always have this fear of micro bursts.  One of our neighbors about five houses down had his portch roof ripped off his house.  Monsoon season can be unpredictable.  Glad your kettle is ok!

Do you cover your grills?  I have a cover for my grill at my buddies house, but it isn't even on the grill since windows rip it off every few days.  I haven't bothered covering the ones I have at my place.  Other than the last three weeks which have been unusually wet, its dry enough here I figure the little bit of rain we get isn't going to hurt anything.  I also use my grills too much to want to have to bother with covering and uncovering them.  If I ever start worry about the hot desert sun or little bit of rain messing with my handles I'll just cover them in some foil.

We had high winds last night too, so I brought in the red head, figured the performer would be okay
