For those who of you who followed ZZ tops epic adventure and restore, I finally received the new charcoal grate yesterday from Weber. In between storms here in Cali I decided today was the day to fire ZZ up. I can't believe how much real estate is on this grill! Thanks to @Cellar2ful, @Dazzo, and @varekai for making this possible! This is 2 big bags of frozen chicken thighs!

Congratulations!
Nothing like firing up a kettle for the first time, especially when you've put so much work in to it!
Looks great, bet you loved every minute!

Mr.CPHo

Congrats on your well deserved first cook.  That beauty is gonna give you years of fine cooking.

You have to appreciate the real estate that the Fleetwood gives you. You did a great job on this man.
I think of mine's story every time I fire her up. In fact, I think it's time to thaw a butt after seeing yours!

HoosierKettle

Looks fantastic. That's a special highly effective cooker. Nice work.

Food and kettle look great. Gotta appreciate the 26'ers.
Looking for colored 18's and SJ's.

Thanks everyone! The chicken came out unbelievable. It was pretty sweet cooking on this one. I did love every minute. It was a lot of fun and rewarding refurbishing ZZ. I still can't believe all the real estate on this. Makes you wonder about a ranch kettle. You could probably stuff a whole pig on it. Next on the agenda for ZZ is 2 tri-tips...when it stops raining of course.

Definitely went to the right home @Vwbuggin64.  You did an amazing job bringing it back to life.  Great to see it back in service.
