I managed to get my hands on a corn n tater ring this week
Thanks to another member
He informed me it was in need of a good clean which I was fine with cause there like hens teeth over here(rare)
Here's some pics of before

And after

Spent about an hour giving it a scrub and I'm pretty happy with how it came up
First impression of it was it was rusted and would I put food on it
But most of the rust and crud came off
My point is that the grease and crap seems to protect the steel from heavy rust
Like when you go to pick up an old grill and the seller has made no effort to clean it .... Ever
You take the lid off , it stinks , it looks like crap and you wonder how anyone ever ate off it
You pick it up for a song , take it home , give it a clean up and it looks like new
Love it!!

I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

Shit Hogsy they're like trying to find a three peckered billy goat around here. The only one I ever did see belongs to the creepy guy with all the kettles and I mean ALL the kettles.
You can't always get what you want....but if you try sometimes you get what you need

Great point, sweet sweat equity.  Plus, it's not much like work if you love what you're doing.
