To be honest, I don't know what they recommend. But the most common is a brand called Kingsford. We like to call it, "K". It has had many changes over the years, but its still fairly reliable.
We do many other choices though, and some will say its not that good. I have used various kinds and brands, but it works for me. It all depends on what you are cooking. I have yet to try coconut. It's supposed to be really good, but it is pricey.
