So what's wrong with this picture?

Mater Touch without the ash can? Love the name outrider. Also fun to know I have four of these pictured so far -  in the same colors!

Jeff

That red one without the ash bucket is a One Touch Plus.  Only difference is ash tray vs the ash pan.  There is a publication somewhere I've seen that speaks about it.

So did Weber OZ stuff up when they put together this manual or is a MT a MT with or without the ash pan?
Anyone have any written proof of the MT vs OT Plus differences?

I know I've seen the literature on it...but don't recall where.  I have a feeling its somewhere on this site though

Hey Hogsy, does this give a copywrite year? That Master Touch is shown in it's One Touch + configuration. They must have renamed the kettle between '89-'91. Since the Performer came out in 1990, I'm guessing this is from '90 or '91. Because I'm positive that the ash can was added in 1992-93. Great find!

There is that Weber ad with the turkey on the grill.  It says something like " one taste tells you it's done, one touch tells you it's a Weber" . It think it is called the Master Touch and it has the open ash pan.  Also that TV commerial with the scientist, isn't that also called the Master Touch?  I can't pulpit up on my phone to verify, but will later unless someone beats me to it.

How about this pic?  It is an advertisement for a large wood product company.  They make all kinds of products wood and wood sourced for the building industry.  In a lot of the ads they show webers.

The Weber kettle is one of the top recognizable trademarks in the world.  There are different categories like food and non-food among others.  Weber is in top 10% non-food and top 25% overall.  65 years of doing it to it.

Me and my red K with the lid bale and ash pan eagerly await the conclusion of the OT+ vs. MT debate...

I think I've seen a catalog from a similar era that listed the OT+ and the MT side-by-side.  But maybe they didn't invent the OT+ nomenclature until after 1988?

This is one of the many that is assembled with the legs in the wrong position. The handle should not be by the leg with the wheel.  ::)

Here's some pics of the front covers of my owners handbook

The top two priced at$2.95 have the performer and M/T advertised in them
One has a code on the bottom left the other doesn't .Both have copyright 1992 on the back
The last one for $3.95 only has the bar-b-kettle and OT Plus & OTS advertised
But has no copyright date
Now here's the two ads for the M/T from the catalogs priced at $2.95

Same name, same blurb but one has the ash pan and one doesn't
And there's no mention of it
Also here's a pic of the performer ad

Anyone know what year the started selling the SS tool holders with the performer?

What the heck are "Heat Beads"? It's near the end of the Performer description, and it talks about storing them in the bin.

Heyjude

Heat Beads are the Aussie version of Charcoal Briquettes..  I think they use them in other countries as well. 8)
