The BBQ pit
« on: November 02, 2016, 03:24:47 PM »
This area has gone unused for years. I poured the concrete and fenced it in with the intention of keeping the dogs in it when it was muddy out. The dogs hated it and just prefer to stay inside so it has basically sat unused for 8 years. We have a deck and another patio that we use for human spaces. I recently had the idea of using it solely for a BBQ area and grill area. The roof overhang is 3' so the grills are pretty much out of the weather. I have big plans for this area and a fair bit more room for grills. It works out nice because it doesn't take up any room that we use outside. I'm just glad the area finally has a use.

That's a cool spot you have there. You'll run out of room eventually.

Yes great use of space. And looks like the dogs will want their space back now.

Yeah they love it. The good thing is it's gated so I can shut them out to keep them from getting the food.

That's Awesome!
We use our carport as a patio, my main grilling area is there, along with some SJs on display, and I keep the rest of the crew in a screen room off the back of the house.
I'd love to have an area like that just for BBQ

Very nice!
I agree with @kettlebb. You're gonna eventually have grills running down both sides. [emoji41]

Cool stuff..  our new house will have a 13x48 foot deck across the back. Under the deck pourd ed concrete this will be usable space for the grills and sitting space.  Oh i will have my daily cookers ON the deck and the "support staff"  under the deck standy by...  awesome space ya go there.  Now filler up with kettles.   😎
Lets just say I have acquired a few Kettles.  Big and small.   Vintage and New...  Some say I have a problem.  I find the Kettle, buy the Kettle, USE the Kettle...No problem...

Yeah it's kind of crazy. If we get to build a house in the near future I need to plan the deck/patio area around grills (and room for future growth).

Yeah I don't remember the last time I've cleaned the grates. The wife and kids know this happens and are fine with it. The rest of the family and friends suspect this but operate on a don't ask don't tell policy.

The dogs go nuts if I forget to let them out when I first open my grill.

That's funny right there. I didn't even notice it was a grate when I first saw the pic.
