As a Packers fan, I was doing my obligatory 3.5 hours on the couch watching the Packers-49ers game. Since it was a preseason game, I got bored and started looking around on the Internet on my IPad. Eventually found myself searching through Internet auction sites of smaller auctioneers that were mostly selling off estate items. Some of them had hundreds and up to almost a thousand lots. Many of these were lots of household items and trinkets that were not even getting the minimum $2.50 bids. The game was almost over and my eyes were getting weary from scrolling through all these lots and looking at thumbnail pictures. I found another auction site with a downsizing auction and started scrolling and then there it was on the second page Lot #173 - Retro Lime Green Weber Charcoal Grill. One picture only

I signed up to bid and had to wait a few days until the end of the auction which was sitting at $17.50. There were few bids at the end and one other bidder who brought the price up some at the end, but it ended up at a price that made it well worth the one hour drive to pick it up. Auctioneer said at first they said no but later decided to sell it. There was a generic grill cover and some grill tools included.
I have been busy and supposed to rain for the next few days so all I have are some pictures in the back seat of my truck that I will post soon.

I am not a collector, but I do have a small collection.

Nice find! Your perseverance paid off.  It's in pristine condition.  Some guy is trying to sell a similar one here in NE Florida for $160 and its condition is much worse!  Congrats!

Mind sharing some of the auction sites you searched?

I just used google to search for auctions that were close to me because I wasn't interested in cost or hassle of shipping.  I also have a bunch of local auction house and estate sale websites saved in a folder that I have found in the past. Often you can find good deals on small items locally due to small audience and prohibitive cost packing and shipping items.

This one was in an auction that used Hibid.com.
Previously I have found items like this one at Proxibid that @Harbormaster bought- see link for full story.

Estate sales.net and auctionzip also have tools to search for auctions and sales within a certain area or distance.
Time wise these searches are have definitely not been worth the reward, even with an awesome pickup like this one. I justify it because I usually do these searches on my IPad while doing other nonproductive things like watching TV.

That is on hell of a score for a grill that looks like it's barely been used and has been stored out of the elements its entire life.  Very nicely done!
