Whats the bests pizza stone? Ive seen some for 10 bucks and some for 55. Not the whole ensemble, but just a stone. Reason why I ask is because I want to try my hand at some pizza pies but there are so many stones out there I need some guidance.

I'll have to look at mine tomorrow. It actually was left here in the oven when we bought our house. lucky me, its been a great stone. Another gadget I bought is a rectangle "Pizza Stone" that is THICK.. made for a gas grill i think. I'll attach some pics tomorrow.

@Vwbuggin64 , here's the link to my stone pics, The round one like I said was here when we bought the house.. The rectangle one came with a gasser I purchased for $25, when I looked it up it goes anywhere between $100 & $250, crazy... I've yet to use it but look forward to trying it out. My finger shows the thickness of the stones, The hoffritz is thin but not delicate feeling, the Villaware is a horse, heavy but the stone feels "airy" if that makes any sense. Not sure I helped but there ya go..my 2 cents.  Did you cut your lid yet?

I recommend a kiln shelf.  They are available at pottery supply stores.
I have been using one in my KP set-up for 3 years with no issues.
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

Been using a rectangular, wish I hand a round.
Will report back on the quality of this item.

The Bialetti stone is a POS. It will crack almost immediately. I got one as a gift and we used it in the oven at 425* to crisp Papa Murphy's. Worked fine.

The box says "For Oven Use Only" and a max of 450*.  First time I put it on the grill it cracked in thirds.

The Peel is fine and I use it for building pies.

Save your money.

Another one to stay away from is the Wilton stone: http://www.wilton.com/wilton-professional-results-pizza-stone-and-rack/2105-2251.html

Wife brought one home from Hobby Lobby and it was under $10 with a coupon. I got 3 good cooks out of it until it cracked in pieces.

you get what you pay for
I cook on: Backwoods Gater, Lang 36, Hunsaker Smokers, Pellet Pro 22" WSM, BGE's, WSM's, Cajun Bandits, PK Grills, Drum Smokers, Genesis Silver C, Weber Q's, Cookshack 008, Little Chief, La Caja China #2, Lodge Sportsman...oh yeah! Weber Kettles! Kamado restoration and pit modification hack!

After cracking my Bed Bath and Beyond stone, I bought one from this place.  It has been bullet proof so far.  If you check out your page you will see some pretty tough testing they have done with their stones.

One other thing to add.  In my mind any of the stones that come in a metal carrying/baking tray are coming that way because they are thin and easy to crack if they aren't snugged into a metal protector.  My Bed Bath and Beyond stone came in a tray and broke in the tray while cooking a pizza.  Just my thoughts.

FireCraft has their free shipping event going on through Friday, I think.
They have a good selection of pizza stones and are a top tier online BBQ store.
