I have one in my $5 thread.  You can have it if you pick it up, Wheeling IL.
I only use kettles with lid bales.

It was showing serious signs of wear, and I was going to get all I could out of it. I guess I'm off to the store tomorrow

Then again, maybe a couple bucks of hardware....?

I have one 4 years old that doesn't look much better. Left it out in the rain a few times. Been recently seeing large slices of rusty metal fall out of the inside. I have another Weber I treat nicer since then.

But my next purchased one might be the CharBroil Half Time model. Also aluminized steel, it's shorter but fatter and holds the same amount, http://www.charbroil.com/accessories/charcoal-smoker-accessories/half-time-charcoal-starter
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
