Is there a dremel or other brand rotary tool you would recommend?

I think I'd like to ask the old lady for a rotary tool to use for buffing and other uses related to restoring Kettles.  Is there a certain one that you guys have had luck with or is there a better solution out there.  I'd like to spend under $75 if possible.

I love my dremel 4000 corded variable speed rotary tool. It won't be great for polishing large surface areas but it's very versatile.

Oh and make sure you buy a lot of the carbon reinforced cutoff wheels.

Dremel here too.  My next one will be corded when the battery dies on my cordless model.

I have a cordless dremel.  It's nice for quick jobs, but for extended use I wish I had a corded one.  I suppose I could pickup an extra battery or two.

Get a Dremel for polishing

For the price of what you will pay for the useless cutoff discs to feed it get an elcheapo China Freight cut off tool and a pack of discs for the bigger jobs.

Honestly, they all work about the same.  Cordless is fun until charges give less and less run time.  Corded means dealing with the cord, but almost infinite run life for the average user.  Always buy the cut off wheels in stacks because every job requires multiples.

And I'll second the harbor freight angle grinder for bigger jobs.  Unless you are a pro running these things for thousands of hours, you don't need the dewalt or Bosch or whatever $150 plus grinder that looks so desirable.  I like fun expensive tools but as an average dude that likes to mess with shit, $40 budget grinder works just as well.  Cheaply cut off wheels and such work well too..again you may not get 30 jobs out each one.

This is one random guys opinion so take it for what it is.

Cheers!
