Looking at picking up this performer for my mom. Listed on Craigslist for $100, then reduced to $60. It's an hour drive, but I think it might be worth it.

Can anyone shed some light on what exactly I'm looking at? It's a 22" performer premium I believe. Or is it a deluxe? There's a little rust on some of it, but is there anything specific I should be looking for?

Here's the image from the ad:

Looks like a 2nd generation Performer.  $60 is a great price, if you don't mind the drive.

The lid thermo makes me think it's an older model, although the guy claims it's 2years old. The wheels though, are the newer ones, but missing hubcaps. Or so it appears, I'm no expert.

It's a 2nd generation performer (22"). It's from somewhere in the 2005-2014 timeframe.

I'm not sure if it is a gas-assist model, but I've never seen a 2nd gen that didn't have it.  You'd have to get a picture of the front of the table to know for sure.

All that being said, $60 is a great price in my area if it's all there and the gas assist is working.

Go for it. If the vents are in good order then it would be worth it not having to transport one over there for get togethers.

Lol, exactly why I'm looking. It's her birthday today, and she always asks me to bring my kettle to get together. Well, now she'll have her own. If I get it

Still haven't heard back from the seller. Patience sucks 😋

Well, I heard back from the seller. Guy said he was tired of looking at it. I offered $40 and he said be here tomorrow and it's yours. Road trip time 😀

Lol. I was about to give up on it after not hearing anything for a few days. Figured I'd email him once more just to check, and he finally relied to me. Told my dad about it, and he's just as excited as me :-P

Picked it up today. No pics though. She's in rough shape; has been sitting outside in the rain and the ash sweep is rusty. We managed to free it up, but the bucket was full of water. My dad took it to his shop where he's going to sand blast the charcoal trays and such to clean them up a little. The porcelain looks good. We're going to attempt to register it after we're done cleaning it, hoping we can get some kind of warranty on it. It does have the gas assist, and came with some tongs, a fork, and a cleaning brush. I think it will clean up nice, just going to need a little elbow grease. Having an aircraft shop full of tools at your disposal will help too😋

She's gonna clean up just fine.  My first Performer was in about the same kind of shape and she cleaned up very nicely.  Can't complain about that price.
Congrats and don't forget to post pics!
