30lb propane

Hi all,
I'm new to this forum ...my question is, is a 30lb propane tank safe for BBQ gas grill. Wondering if there's a required distance from the heat source

Hello, Thesnow321.
I am sorry that you didn't get any responses yet to your question. We are a kettle-centric group, and unfortunately, the gasser section does not draw a ton of traffic sometimes.
As to your question, my opinion is that it looks like there is plenty of room in there for that tank.
Hook it up, light it, let it go for 15 minutes and then try to touch the tank valve knob. If you can't put your hand in there you may have to rethink things. If you can, then I think that you will be fine!

Welcome to the forum @Thesnow321. It may be that no one is knowledgeable enough on propane fire safety here. Wrong advice could be life threatening. I would recommend you check with your local fire department or propane company.  I have seen horrible injuries and death resulting from modifications to manufacture designed propane systems. Hope you find a knowledgeable and safe answer to your question.

Spoke with Tech that assembles many different brand's of Gas BBQ's  he  highly didn't recommend a 30lb tank even if tank fits inside the enclosed cabinet...problem is flames are to close to tank...even if the tank doesn't get to hot in the enclosed cabinet.

Thanks for the update @Thesnow321. I was pretty sure that was going to be the advice given by a knowledgeable source.  Much better to refill your propane tank more frequently than to take risks with a larger propane tank.
