Hello, i want to show you my Weber grill. Because of the documentation and the accessories I find that my " 83er Brown " a special collectible.
Many pictures are coming, sorry some to big for directlink

The first owner take a look 1983 German Weber Catalog

On page 5 you can see the Brown model as 47er 18",recognize the dark ring in the lid .
On page 4 , he then his desire kettle in size 57cm 22,5", note the nice chassis of the '83 model , he crosses his favorite color .

So he goes to the merchant Cuton in Waltenhofen and fills out his order form about 625 DM . Which is now 315 Euro around 300 Dollars 1983 a lot of money

Some days later he picks up his kettle and grilling exactly 1 time

Many decades later, I get the kettle out of his garage and not even have to brush them . Produced still in Arlington Heights not in Palatine .

So thats it

Why i want sell this kettle? I think its something for an collector with a showroom. I dont have a good space for it. I love old kettles which i can use.
In the 80s are Millions of kettles sold in the USA. But in Europe / Germany only small number of thousands , so something like this is extremly rare.
I think the collector price for this extremly rare kettle is 500$ (plus shipping) and thats my asking price. I will not sell the kettle for 100-200$, so dont try.

Wow, that is a grate Weber lot you have!!!  Very cool to see the differences between the German & US models.
Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Didn't have time to study, but now that you mention it. Holy F'ing deviant!!!  He looks like he's planning on him & his buddy rotisserizing that gal. Or am I the deviant for drawing that conclusion?

That is very interesting.  I had no idea there were such differences between American and European models during the 80s.  I'd never seen that style of legs before.  Also, I think 83 was the first year of the one touch system, making that a cutting edge Weber right there.  Congrats on the beautiful piece of history there.

@ArtyS. Great write up and pics! I like the curved rear legs with the keeper pins and the stop on the front legs.
How cool to have that grill in such supreme shape all these years later!
It's interesting to see the difference in how these were produced for the different places.

@LightningBoldtz. I thought the same thing when i saw that picture. Dude is thinking "Hey bro, thats my ass tonight. I didn't put on this bad ass turtle neck not to get laid!"

@ArtyS   Here's my guess, bearing in mind I've never seen this style kettle before, IF the pin goes through a hole in the axle withing the leg tubing, then it may be to "lock" the wheel into a position that restricts its motion toward the wheel.  Those wheel caps on the axle are not the most reliable locking device once they have been removed.
