Master Touch Tribute
« on: June 03, 2016, 05:10:43 PM »
Today, I was doing some minor clean up on my Red MT I picked up few weeks ago. Took few pics and thought about doing a Tribute instead of adding them to my thread.

I realized how important role it has played in Weber history ( 1992-1999) and significant enough to be brought back in recent year. ( 2015 for US and Canada and earlier for European market).

2 very informative WKC articles.
The Weber Master Touch History  http://weberkettleclub.com/history/the-weber-master-touch-history/
And on The return of the Weber MasterTouch! Full review and side-by-side comparison.  http://weberkettleclub.com/blog/2014/12/08/the-return-of-the-master-touch-full-review-and-head-to-head-showdown/

Apparently, 1 gen MT was offered in  green, blue, black, red, red mist, copper mist, grey and burgundy.  2nd Gen in 2015 in Black only and 2016 with Canadian Limited Edition in 4 new colors.

It will be interesting to see how many/what color/what year(code)/owners/stories are out there for this beautiful MT.
Let's put em all together. Pics and description would be nice.

I will start off with my pics I took today.

I clay Bared the Lid - smooth as baby's butt. Couple coats of cleaner wax to protect. Other parts did not require much cleaning.

RED (ER-1996) lined up with 20 years younger GREEN brother.  IMO, The two tone RED looks  as good as if not better than the GREEN.

Also, inspired by MacEggs;s beautiful custom Performer, I would love to have someone start off new thread on all gen Performer Tribute.

Update:  My Bad! No need to create another thread as one already exist.  I somehow missed that one that was started in Jan. of this year. Mr. Mac has been kind enough to remind me of it.  Thanks!  For people with custom/modded/ restored Performers, that have not posted yet...we all love to see more added to that thread.

My neighbor has a sweet blue master touch.  I'm not crazy about the color but it's very well kept.  Kinda hoping he gets tired of it one day.  LOL!  I myself want that Canadian white mastertouch.  Just gotta convince the wife!
Too many grills and too little time! Looking for a  BLUE GENESIS GASSER! Will pay a bounty!

Nice lineup pic.   I would love to pick up nice dark green MT locally.  Someday, if I am lucky enough.

I just pulled my "N" 1991 Master-Touch/Cajun Bandit Kettle Conversion out of the comp trailer, not much of a tribute, but its on the deck for now! Gotten a lot of use and now has that "red fade" look goin' for it!

I cook on: Backwoods Gater, Lang 36, Hunsaker Smokers, Pellet Pro 22" WSM, BGE's, WSM's, Cajun Bandits, PK Grills, Drum Smokers, Genesis Silver C, Weber Q's, Cookshack 008, Little Chief, La Caja China #2, Lodge Sportsman...oh yeah! Weber Kettles! Kamado restoration and pit modification hack!
