Received this in the mail today

Was very excited. It looked great in the photo's and seller assured me there was no chips in the enamel

Its a H code and the lid is perfect but unfortunately in transit the bowl got damaged

My smile soon turned to a frown
I have all the chipped enamel, although it is a 10 piece jigsaw puzzle.
So do I try and glue the paint back on or touch it up with some high heat paint?

If it's going to be a looker, then that opens up the options on types of paint to use. Sorry that it got dinged in transit. Did they send it completely assembled in that box?

No the legs were taken off and packed on top
And they used an old sheet to wrap the lid an bowl.
It looks like the handle got hit in transit as there's a hole in the box where the handle was sitting

It did but not its not the twist type, but I have a spare one of those
The red that Brian restored for you Craig, did he use high heat paint?

Nice score Hogsy! If the chips aren't too small try some super glue. My son hit my blue one with a rock and knocked a chip out, but the super glue worked and is still holding. Otherwise you might not even need high heat red because of the location. Follow Craigs great advice.

Thanks for the link Craig, just  read it after I walked out of the Auto shop with  a $20 can of high heat Caliper paint. I then rang the DuPont rep for OZ and left a message with him.

In the last hour I've spoken to the DuPont OZ manager, sales rep, manufacturer and technical advisor
Technical advisor is going to do some research and call me back on Monday
I think he thinks I'm some sort of BBQ manufacturer
Anyway when he rings back I don't want to seem like some kinda douche bag so I've got some more questions
From what I can tell spectra master is the type of paint and RS914 is the color.
Centari is an additive that helps bind and harden the paint
So what makes it high temp?
Is it available in a spray can( pressure pack)?
Or is it just brushed on?
I know its been discussed before but does anyone use anything to fill the chipped area before painting?
Has anyone got a paint code for the chocolate or brown coloured kettles?

Okay Spectra master is the color system.   Centari is the kind of paint.  It is an enamel.  It has a hardener that supposedly makes it higher temp.  It has three parts, the paint, the thinner and the hardener.  I don't think it would handle a real high temp cook.  It all comes in cans no spray.  It is very industrial.  I actually brushed the paint on Craig's grill.  You will never get these 100% fixed but you can make it look a little better.  I still don't know how much heat this paint will handle?

Sometime soon when the weather stays nice and I can start living outside again, I'll fire up the '79 redhead I got from Brian and do a test cook. I'll watch the temps and see what happens. One question that I have, wouldnt a buildup of ash or gunk in the bowl over time help protect the outer porcelain and the paint? I don't know. I've always wondered.

Until it catches on fire. There's likely a lot of grease in the gunk.
