My new side table mod
« on: April 12, 2016, 07:21:12 AM »
So I finished my Side table mod.

A few weeks back I asked for some ideas for a side table mod and I got lots of good ideas.  I took those and made my own.  You will notice that it looks a lot like an old vintage teak weber table.

I made the table out of some extra ash and hickory I had around the house.  In the picture it had no finish but I have coated it in a few layers of food grade walnut oil since then.

I decided to make a clamp bar so I can attach it to the kettle handle for extra stability.

So far I have only used it once and it worked great for plates and balancing a beer. .

Next I have to get some hooks for tongs and such.

Thank you for those that gave me pics for inspiration.

If anyone has any questions about the build let me know.

Cheers

Looks great. Nice work.

If the litmus test is holding a beer, maybe a bottle opener attachment is in order.
Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Looks good and functional.  Is it intended to be removable?

Very nice

Since my kettles need to be portable I decided to just get a 4x2 height adjustable Lifetime table ($34 bucks). It's 36" high so it's perfect and easy to fold/transport for camp trips and picnics

Sorry for the late reply.  Busy work schedule of late.

I used a metal collar with eye bolt.  here is a pic.  I wanted to be able to adjust the legs independently due to possible uneven ground.
