Rescued a roadside 18.5 inch black one touch.
Everything is in good shape except the bottom bowl is rusted out... totally gone where the one touch assembly connected.
I could just line it with some foil or only use it for wide open cooks.

Is it even worth trying to get a new bowl and one touch assembly?
I can probably pick up a used one for less than the cost of the parts on line!

Imo that one is not worth the effort to restore but you can use it for high heat cooks or as a firepit. You also won't be able to snuff it out.

Scrape it out and fill it w ice and beers for parties?

Jon

You could totally combine the table idea with the beer cooler idea. Table top with a circular hole in the middle. Maybe seal up the bottom to be water tight, or not. A fitting end for a good-time tool in my mind.

I was thinking, beer cooler? Little small for that, but more I thought, it makes sense. "The cooks" personal beer cooler if you like to have cookouts! Pretty cool cause your the one standing there manning the grill at the backyard party with your personal Weber cooler! Be a cool conversation piece!

Damn, from reading my own post I'm ready for spring time cookout!

I totally agree.  With a little elbow grease, it could be very cool.

Line the bottom inside of the bowl with HVAC heat tape and make it a cool kettle fire pit. Put some stubby legs on it too..

Check the leg sockets. If they're weak I'd take a pass, even if just as a beer cooler unless you don't mind the thing one day falling over.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
