Hi Lemans:
The Melting temp for steel is at 2750F, so we are far away so nothing to worry about, one thing for sure, it kills any bacteria directly above the sizzle Monster :-)

We are live on KickStarter, please feel free to visit: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/682470691/sizzle-monsterize-your-charcoal-grill

Thanks,

The one HUGE advantage the Slow N Sear has over the sizzlemonster is the water reservoir which I think is a key aspect in keeping your meat from drying out during a slow cook. I think both inventions are wonderful, but no need to own both in my opinion.

I've got a Slow N Sear, two Vortex and I just backed this. I agree there are similar uses for all of these, but in the end I'm a sucker for gadgets. :)

I use a vortex-like charcoal basket on a STOK Charcoal Drum so I wasn't interested in duplicating the functionality but after seeing the video and the pricing which seems very very reasonable, I'm considering it.  So often you see KickStarter projects that are outrageous in what they give back, not in this case.
