The one HUGE advantage the Slow N Sear has over the sizzlemonster is the water reservoir which I think is a key aspect in keeping your meat from drying out during a slow cook. I think both inventions are wonderful, but no need to own both in my opinion.

What kind of temperatures are you getting with the diffuser plate on?

Hi AZ: sorry I answered incorrectly, 1100F is without the diffuser plate :-), with the plate, I get 360-400F for about 1 hour, which is great for indirect heat cooking.

Looks like an interesting product!

What is the ring made out of it?
I've noticed the stamped baskets from weber tend to last about 3 years (depending on use and abuse)

Hi Troy:
It is also the stamped steel, but we use the thicker gauge metal, so hope it will last longer.  I didn't know there are so many serious bad ass cooks out there till I start to join the forum!

@ Jon: When I launch Kickstart tomorrow, you may want to check out our hat to match your new pet Sizzle Monster :-)

From the perspective of someone who just started using a cast iron skillet on the grill for reverse sears, as I posted earlier, I'm really impressed. If I already had the gourmet grate I'd probably be next in line. Sounds like a great concept.

I guess will this work well with the "STOK grill insert system" also...

Hi Metal Mike:
As long as you have 4.5" tall space between your top grate and bottom grate, Sizzle Monster will work!

Sure, Hsinhan
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch
