Awesome rotiserrie concept
« on: January 18, 2016, 09:36:52 AM »
This is a kick-ass idea. Uses a thermoelectric generator to convert heat from inside the kettle into electricity to power a rotisserie and light. Absolutely love it. Wonder if he pitched it to Weber.

Would love to hear what all of you sciencey/engineer types think of it...

Not a bad idea...

But batteries are pretty easy, much less complicated so cheaper and better reliability... And leaves the heat for cooking, as this thing would have to (minorly) cool off the kettle.

Pretty cool. There's also a couple cats who sell cell phone chargers that work off the heat from lanterns, campstoves etc. Even ultra light versions for backpackers.

Would be great for off-griders.

I seen the same basic concept attached to a camp stove.
