My Webers all make me look like a better cook than I am.
It's the iconic symbol for the backyard. It's family/friends, food and fun. What more do you need to feel everything [is] going to be all right. As long as we can still have a BBQ in our backyard, the world seems a bit of a better place. At least for that moment. -reillyranch

I have a charcoal grill I spent $1500 on that I haven't used in a year since getting a Weber kettle and my first Slow 'N Sear prototype.  OK, I take that back, I use it to hold my beer and grill brush... sometimes a rib rack...  I feel kinda silly ever buying it.

A Weber kettle is basically an open canvas. Frightening at first, but liberating once you understand a few basic things, yes? I'd love to have a huge Summit gasser with knobs that light up or maybe whatever the heck a huge $1500 charcoal grill might be, but honestly I don't know that I'd understand what they do. This is basically the opposite of what a typical gas grill user experiences, probably.

$1500 on a charcoal grill? Even a Ranch only costs $1200.   :D
