Hummmmm,  first a  78' red, then a NOS Red MT, and now an early-70's Red 18"er  ...  604 are you starting to see RED ???   ;)   8)                            SJ

Absolutely! And it's not a new thing!... somehow I've been a magnet for red kettles right from the get go. They do seem to be more common out this way then they are in other places but still! I'd have to double check but I bet at least 10 red kettles passed through the laboratory last year :o ;D

Is it really new or another of your amazing restores?  Who can tell? Absolute stunner!

Thank you very much for the kind words! This one was a quick restore and the 78' is the new kettle... I didn't explain myself very well in the last post ;)

It was already in real nice shape and quite clean on the outside. I gave it the usual once over - polished up the legs, triangle and ash pan, cleaned up the wheels and handle, and did a deep clean on the inside of the kettle. Most of the time spent was on the bowl interior and cleaning up all the vents but all in all it was a pretty easy process.

Here are the two kettles side by side. The photo doesn't even come close to showing the difference to the naked eye but you can see it a bit. The 78' is just a tiny step closer towards crimson in color and doesn't have as deep of a gloss to it.

Thanks again
