I had to go for it.
« on: December 15, 2015, 08:33:26 AM »
This is not the best of hauls but I thought it was cool.

Saw an ad for a kettle in box(NOS) and it looked like an older kettle.  Looking at the model number it didn't look normal.

Picked it up, it is a std black 96 economy, the handles are kinda cool.

here are the shots.

ER = 1996

Unique handle, these are coming off.

I needed to install the vents on the kettle.

There she is, as I said not a huge special haul but it was neat, i was hoping for something with color to it but for the price I was going to buy it no matter what.
Probably won't keep it long

I second that!  Three Wheelers make controlling temps when smoking even easier than one touch grill since you can close down two vents and really fine tune with the third grill.

Nice score!

At the time the one touch system was an upgrade over the daisy vents,  additional basic features are wheels do not have "Weber" on them they are just black and the triangle has less bars on it.

If you think grilled Fritos are good, then you gotta try grilled Nacho Cheese Doritos. Life changing!!!

Obviously looking for a Glen Blue (who isn’t?😂).

Looking for anything Happy Cooker, including any re-branded as Montgomery Ward.  I’ve amassed a nice collection, but I’m missing a few still.  Let me know if you can help a fella out🤞

Opening that box is like opening a time capsule from 20 years ago. Nice grab.

Yeah it was, that was part of the enjoyment of buying it and putting it together.

If I recall correctly, the Economy Kettle still had the three vents on the bottom, and the triangle without the signature three spokes.

The handles look unfinished too, wondering if that was a another feature of the "economy"

Nice find though!
