Looks like the ring fits where the charcoal grate would be, then the firebox fits in that which gives you some extra charcoal depth.  Then you can use the griddle for cooking in, or leave the griddle off and use your normal cooking grate for searing or indirect cooking.  Oh, and I think if you are searing, you can put the square plate in the charcoal bin so the coal sits at the level it would be if you were putting coals on the coal grate.  It seems like this product needs a video to explain it a little better.

and it looks like since the big pan thing acts as a difuser and drip pan for smoking, it lets you use the entire cooking grate surface for smoking which is pretty cool.

Even with the cutaway, I'm not sure what the heck it really does.

Think Smoke-n-Ator with a giant water pan and a major cook time increase w/o adding coals manually.  Can't imagine what it must cost  ...  more than a Weber kettle I'd guess :)  ;D                             SJ

Thanks for link to the video, Mike.  I would have thought that the coals stacked on top would catch more quickly than they say.  Guess that's due to reduced air flow.
