Gas Ignition Question

Just doing some research & was wondering with the Performer Deluxe is it harder to maintain low & slow cooks & also cut off oxygen to put coals out being that it is not as sealed with the burner tube going through the lower part of the grill. Or is it sealed up pretty good.

No problem maintaining low heat or snuffing out the coals after a cook
