22" kettle stacker 2.0
« on: September 14, 2015, 12:52:01 PM »
Well I found my next project, weber stacker 2.0! To be constructed from this stainless adblue tank that was salvaged from my work.
The plan is fairly simple, chop the end with the fill cap off where it meets the body, chop the other end off, then make 2 cuts to reduce the diameter from 62.5cm to 56cm.
That's gonna involve removing 20cm from the circumference of it, (which will also conveniently eliminate that hole), then re-welding it together.
Addition mods will of course include handles, a smokey mountain probe grommet, and a multi level grate system involving piano hinging, and making a proper lip for the top. Not entirely sure that I'll need a latching system yet though.
Also the section with the fill cap will be repurposed to a tub to soak/clean the grates.
