Well folks, I've been pretty inactive for the last month. Story is that I was called to a new church (I'm a Lutheran pastor) and things have been crazy during the transition. I'll be moving to Pleasant Prairie WI at the end of the month. I'm selling a handful of kettles to make the move a little easier (see here:
http://weberkettleclub.com/forums/member-sales-trades/moving-sale!/new/#new ).
But that doesn't mean that I've stopped acquiring kettles. A few months ago, while doing a home visit with an older couple, I spotted a red 18 Wood Dale in the garage. The husband saw me admiring it and we got to chatting about the WKC, and my small collection. He said, "When I'm done with her, she's yours!" We both laughed and moved on. Well, today I went back for one last visit before the move and they gave me a thank you card (which they always do) only this time they made me open it and read the note. It said, in part, "Hope the addition of the grill to your collection makes you smile. It certainly makes us smile- who collects grills?"
Long story short, after the visit we loaded the beauty up and I have a grill, and memories, I'll treasure for a long time. Looks to be a 62-63.
P.S. I informed them that it was an elite group who collect Weber Kettles, but they still thought it was silly![emoji12]
