it really was.

it was listed as "green" on ebay uk, and now i know why.  in every picture of "lemongrass" that i've seen they appear pale yellow.  but in person, there's a hint of mint green in the hue.  kind of like how red always photographs funky, same thing here with the yellow.  it looks yellow for sure, but there's this almost faded lime thing going on.   :o

i still have to do a full clean up on her, she just came out of her shipping container last night.  this is going to be one of my main cookers this summer as an overflow to the 26.  hey the veggies and extra CI side dishes gotta go somewhere right?  :D

happy fathers day again!

Great comparison there........it is way toward the "Yellow" side of things, but it can be seen to have that cast of green tint you're talking about, esp. in the 1st pic .......

I wonder how they come up with the foreign color schemes?

I didn't think that anything faded in the UK ....    :o

That looks sweet!
Q: How do you know something is bull$h!t?
A: When you are not allowed to question it.

GregS

oh no i'm sure it didn't fade, this was probably the same color out of the box.

speaking of boxes...

GregS

yep, there was another box with it.

well i had to check for the signature travel'd-too-far-in-a-weber-box-itis.  and there it is, chipping around the handle.  same thing on the SG from last year.  though this one is milder.

SHAME!

whew, back in your box.

Ummm ... Yes!

Alright ... Send it to me, I will rectify that problem and return it to the UK, as shipping from Canada is cheaper.  :o :P ;D :-X ;) ;)

That box really needs to be 2" wider in each direction (or set inside a 24" box) & packed completely with wadding so the Kettle is "insulated" from any shock the could happen aside from being run over by a truck.......

Still a great color & way to get started on your "import" business !!!!!!!

EDIT: So there was an outside box & that still happened?

Maybe the wadding could have still prevented that anyway, in the inside against the kettle to keep it from any movement.....?

@1buckie the yellow was double boxed, it was purchased used and has had a few cooks on it.  so my guy packed it right.  the ivory came in just the shelf packaging.  i agree, they should be outer boxed as with anything.  when/if i ever meet my UK counterpart in person, i'll kick him.  no i won't kick him, i should have insisted.

ivory is/was my grail grill.  still kinda hard to believe i got it.  i've decided to assemble it at some point but i'll probably keep it in storage as one of my two "collector/hoarder" grills.  until we get in the house, which is hopefully this year if all goes as planned.  :D

OK, cool......I haven't packed that many, but internal wadding really helps keep it from shifting or being bounced about during shipping.......been told the jobs were bulletproof....

If they're all stacked flat for the original transfer, I'm thinkin' the box they come in would be fine........

but when they get out in the wilderness of UPS, FedEx, etc. it's a different story....
