The clamps are making the seal that tight I don't think drips are even an issue

I installed the probe eyelets today, might test the snake out later on

And to please the ocd affected, ready to go at a moments notice

That's a cool pic of it all stacked and ready to go!!!
How do you find temp control with the double stack snake? I normally do 2 wide 1 high and find I have the bowl vents on a OT 1/2-3/4 closed to keep it in the 225-250f range
I'm only 2 or 3 kettles away from being that creepy guy down the street with all the Webers

What end of that do you light?
Willing to trade first born for: *Ranger (any colour) *Westerner (yeah right)

*Imperial (Glen-Blue) *Brown GA

Normally I have a 2x1 snake with the chunks on it, vents fully open, sits at 250°f for 14 hours  in good weather

I'll more than likely light it from the centre

Keep the pics coming and I'll get the popcorn 👍

Oh, I thought you were excited about that possibility in the Ranch charcoal setup thread?

Oops that's right, with that setup in the RK I might make the Guiness Book of Records for the longest continuous cook in a kettle without adding fuel

I started with a smaller test to dial in the temped I wanted. I did a 2x2 small run, ended up running at 300°f lower shelf and 285°f for the upper shelf. As this died off I started a new snake and running 2x1 properly.
I suspect I'll be running 2x1 snakes with wood chunks on top with 15-20 lit coals to start with as a final product.
The terracotta saucer is working awesomely as a heat deflector and even better as a heat sink

Alrighty, the terracotta saucer failed and cracked under heat, so I made one up out of scrap steel, it admittedly works great.
A small modification to the setup and I'm pretty set now.
