Estate sale find, 18 WSM mystery date, HELP

I picked this up yesterday morning at an estate sale. The vents are smooth as well as the door. All other WSM's I've seen have a bubble type line between the holes in the vent lids. It's had been sitting in the basement for the last 25+ years and only used a couple times, EVER. It even has a slight orange peel on the lid which you can see in the reflection in one of the picturs. If anyone knows more about when this might have been made I'd appreciate the knowledge

I think my E code 1880 has the pointy vent holes. @mike.stavlund @harris92 what shape are yours? I'm not home for a few days so I can't check. @Craig, what years did they have this kind of wood handle? My wood handle Had much less grain with a different stain. My door also looks similar. It's a heavier gauge stainless? type with satin finish. It also doesn't have the orange peel common on late 70's webers.

This would be the only A code wsm documented if so. There's currently only one B code.

although that handle looks much newer, as it has the 2 lines on the left and the top wood part is thicker

The missing ridges seem more odd than the missing stamp...

Wouldn't it have double rivet handles if it was an A or B code?

I also have a "C" code WSM with the same vent holes but the door is different and no sign of orange peeling at all

SZF, all 4 vents are the same, smooth with no markings

Looks like a steel door. What about the legs? Are they steel?

Can't be a "A" because... well because.

Can't be a "B" because it has a single screw handle.

Can't be a "C" or "D" because the handle is incorrect (It has the two lines on the left side of the handle. "C" and "D" wouldn't have the lines).

So, if it has steel legs and door, the oldest it could be is an "E".

Great score BTW. Always good to see the classics wind up at home with a grillfella.
