Geez Mike, if I knew your cool story would include a pic of my redhead, I would have cleaned her up a bit more! If I ever slip back into a basic black-phase, you have first dibs. Unlike some members, I do not suffer from schwarzaphobia.

Marty, I would never take your Performer, given the way it came to you.  It needs to stay with you for sure.  And I will find a red one, and have my own story to tell about it.

BTW, the story of your Performer needs to be told on the home page, too!  It makes me grin every time I think about it.

I don't want to sound like an egg-no-ramus, but what is schwarzaphobia?  ???

Schwarz is German for Black. Some here have gone on record as having an aversion to black kettles.

Mike if your in need of a red kettle I can help you out...

Well, though I only own a black SJ, I dont have a fear of the black kettles.  :D Someday I'd like to own one. Preferably a pre '81 22.5, but we'll see what the future holds.

One of my oldest and favorites is a mid sixties thumbscrew black kettle... it's in really great shape..

Thanks for the offer, Brian, but I'm looking for a red SS Performer-- pretty tough to ship those.  ;-)  I will find one, in good time.  I just missed one last year.

I have a red kettle-- a K One-Touch Plus, which I got at an estate sale for 10 bucks.  Which is a constant reminder that one of the best parts of collecting old kettles is the way in which they come to us.  So I'll just keep waiting to see what the story of my red SS Performer is...

I love that black thumbscrew kettle, too.  That thing is in incredible shape!
