This picture intrigues me on many levels. Raw metal original kettle. Spinning rig with something that looks like a ranch-size kettle on it. Obviously it's a very low res blow up of a very small photo I found somewhere - maybe on Weber's site? I would love to see the original. Anyone out there see anything like it? Is this a scene from WBMW? Was it a re-creation? Is anyone out there as intrigued as me?

cool picture Marty.  Too bad the res is so low.  Certainly appears to be an original buoy kettle with the tell tale stand

To me it looks like a recreation. The lighting and exposure and colors look amazing.
Obviously it COULD be a photo from the 50s that's been manually colored...

As for the big sphere - it could be a rancher, or it could be a bouey

These are filtered to color pictures taken in Russia in the 1870's or 80's....





the filters were applied as they were exposed..... that's how they came out.......

sorry, i didn't mean to imply that it HAD to be a 50s black and white if it were original...
the sentence was poorly worded (just woke up from a weird desk nap)

I suppose color photos were expensive to take and required a pro. Which means lighting and exposure WOULD be spot on.

It looks like it may have been colorized, Ted Turner style? Notice that the buoy kettle stand isn't red, it looks "black & white" compared to the rest of the photo. That's just my observation, I could be wrong... At the end of the day it's a neat photo! I'm betting its original 50s either way.
